Teaching and learning cannot be done without trust. Trust is the bedrock of education. If a teacher doesn\'t believe that his or her students can perform well academically, and if a student doesn\'t hold the belief that his or her teacher has the ability to teach, then education is bound to fail.

We often compare teachers to guides. For students, if they are to follow a teacher\'s lead, they must first trust the teacher to take them to the right learning path; for teachers, if they are to fulfil their teaching job, they must first have faith in their students. Only in this way can teaching and learning be achieved. Although building trust is not an easy task—it requires both sides to have an open mind, and to communicate without reservation—once it is accomplished, it will not only benefit the academic performance of both sides, but also build a connection between them that will last for a lifetime.

The relationship between teachers and students is a very valuable one. Mutual trust is the beginning of teaching and learning, also a start of a wonderful life experience.
