Practice 3　　随着国际社会对中国的关注度日益提升，越来越多的外国人开始对中国和中国文化感兴趣，学习汉语的人数也与El俱增。现在，很多国家和地区的高等教育机构和中学开设了汉语课。仅在美国，就有近百所大学开设汉语专业，开设汉语课程的学校则超过了700所。各种迹象表明，一股学习汉语的热潮正在世界各地兴起。　　与此同时，来华留学生的人数也在逐年攀升。据统计，l991年在华外国留学生总人数为1.1万人，2000年增加到2万人，2006年来华留学生人数超过了16万人。

At present, Chinese courses are offered by institutions of higher learning and middle schools in many countries and regions. In the United States alone, nearly 100 universities offer degree programs in Chinese and over 700 schools teach Chinese as a foreign language. There is every indication that a fervor in learning Chinese is rising around the world.<br> <alone></alone>At the same time, the number of international students studying in China is going up year by year. According to statistics, in 1991 the total number of international students in China was 11,000, in 2000 the number rose to 20,000, and by 2006 it climbed to over 160,000.
